What we are looking for
You will help shape and execute Podero’s market expansion strategy, focusing on opening doors and building relationships with senior decision-makers in utilities and energy trading companies. This role offers the exciting opportunity to influence how billion-dollar utility companies adopt cutting-edge technology, shape Podero’s growth strategy, and be part of a young, fast-paced startup that is driving the global energy transition.
This position requires a combination of strategic thinking, relationship-building, and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders at the highest levels. You will work closely with Podero’s leadership, collaborate with product and marketing teams, and help define how Podero is positioned in the energy ecosystem. Our account executives will manage the details of the sales process in alignment with your stakeholder management and strategic engagements, enabling you focus on unlocking access to senior stakeholders and strategic market opportunities.
As a Strategic Account Director, you will report directly to the CEO, work within the go-to-market department, and play a pivotal role in shaping Podero’s growth strategy and customer relationships. This role gives you the opportunity to influence the trajectory of a high-growth startup while contributing to the global push for CO₂ neutrality.
Key Responsibilities
As part of your role at Podero, your responsibilities will include:
Strategic Market Engagement:
- Proactively connect Podero with senior decision-makers in utilities and energy trading companies.
- Represent Podero at events and industry conferences to build relationships and explore strategic opportunities.
- Shape Podero’s go-to-market strategy.
- Serve as the primary contact person for highest level stakeholders throughout the sales process
- Serve as a senior contact point for top-level stakeholders and support early stages of the sales process before handing off to account executives.
Advisory & Collaboration:
- Advise Podero’s leadership on market trends, competitive landscapes, and strategic partnerships.
- Collaborate with sales managers, sales engineers, and customer success on key accounts.
- Work with marketing, operations, product, and tech teams to align messaging and positioning with customer needs.
- Support account executives with senior stakeholder introductions and participation in key meetings.
Desired Experience
- Extensive experience and network in the energy or energy trading sector.
- Proven track record in business development, key account management, or origination with strong senior stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with executives and decision makers.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to identify and prioritize high-value opportunities.
- Experience advising or collaborating with startups or innovative tech companies is a plus.

- Familiarity with the energy sector or utilities industry is essential for this role.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and modern sales tools is a plus but not the main focus.
